Belief in the legacy of spiritual efficacy is an important part of each EcoQuest retreat as it reinforces God’s divine providence and affirmation of humanity.
What is Meant by the Legacy of Spiritual Efficacy?
In the context of EcoQuest, the legacy of spiritual efficacy refers to the belief or certainty of God’s inscription of himself in humanity. It is the realization of who and what mankind has always been despite shortcomings. The origins of this belief are found in the Genesis account of human conception, where human identity was forever encapsulated in God’s image-bearing likeness.
Belief in this miraculous start to life underpins God’s love story of mankind. It begins a sequence of affirmations about what is valued, significant and authentic about being a child of God. It supersedes any notion of worm-based theology or performance-based faith however, it does not denounce the biblical account of spiritual absolution.
